To evaluate environmental impacts.
To investigate the existential risks of AI.
To decide on rules and limits.
To have a genuine public debate.
To bring AI development under democratic control.
WHY A RALLY?
To stand in solidarity with local communities.
To raise awareness about the negative impact of data centres.
To engage and educate the public and policymakers about AI.
To demand that local councils, mayors, state and federal representatives:
- Impose an immediate one-year moratorium on all data centre developments.
- Apply this to new proposals and projects in the pipeline.
- Grant no new permits, approvals, connections, licences or subsidies.
- Stop every project at its next approval point.
